You know legacy giving is important to your organization but you need help deciding what steps to take with your limited time.
Is your organization benefiting from the billion dollar intergenerational wealth transfer?
Asking for legacy gifts as part of your regular fundraising activities could transform how your organization makes an impact in the world.
Your non-profit has been around for a while and is doing great things. You want to do more, and you can see how your vision can change the world, but you need the resources to do so – resources you are always short on: time and money. Not to mention focus. Everyone at your organization wears several hats, but somehow the legacy giving fundraising hat got left behind.
Legacy Jump Start is an online program designed especially for busy non-profits who believe in the importance of legacy giving, and want a step-by-step guide to take action now.
You’ve probably heard of legacy giving – also known as planned giving. Maybe your organization has even had the lovely surprise call from a lawyer, letting them know you are a beneficiary of a gift in a donor’s will. But taking proactive action to ask donors directly has been hard to do, the resources are tight, and frankly, who wants to begin a conversation that includes death and taxes?
Whether you’ve discussed legacy giving before or not, it’s a powerful cornerstone for non-profit fundraising. Realized planned giving revenue has started new programs, provided independence from annual grant cycles, and even changed the course for non-profits on the edge of despair.
Now, it’s your turn to benefit from a fundraising tool previously reserved for the experts.
Through Legacy Jump Start, we were able to hone our messages about the Foundation’s work and the benefits of a leaving a legacy gift. Our board committee approved mailing to 85 of our most important donors. To date, we’ve received six responses confirming that they have left or intend to leave a gift to the Foundation in their wills, more than double the industry average.
I recommend Legacy Jump Start to any organization who is afraid that donors will be offended by a direct ask. As our experience attests, donors are highly motivated to leave a future gift. Through Legacy Jump Start, you will have the support and tools you need to make this happen at your own organization.
Who created Legacy Jump Start?
The Legacy Jump Start program was built by Julia and Dave Magnuson-Ford, a father – daughter team who have been involved in hundreds of thousands of legacy gift invitations for over three decades combined. As a fundraiser and project manager, we know what it takes to make planned giving an integral part of a fundraising strategy, for large and small shops.
Who is Legacy Jump Start for?
The strategies outlined in this program are appropriate for small to medium sized non-profits, with no or limited planned giving activities. For fundraisers who are just starting out with planned giving to those who have had plenty of meetings but would like to make legacy fundraising a systematic part of their fundraising strategy, this program outlines concrete action steps for you to take.
What does Legacy Jump Start cost?
$500 CAD plus tax (GST). This includes lifetime access to the online program. Go ahead, try a few lessons to see if it makes sense for you.
If you know that you could use a little extra help, we offer coaching support packages for an additional $500 plus tax. This gives you one-on-one time with an expert to work on your specific situation.
